What this site is
Life Coverage Calculator is an independent publisher of educational information about life insurance. It provides free tools — a needs calculator and a policy-type quiz — along with written guides and comparisons.
The site is written by Ryan Hearn, a licensed life insurance producer in California (CA licence #0L14758). Using this site does not create a producer-client relationship, and nothing here is an application for insurance. We are not an insurance agency, broker or carrier, and we do not sell, bind, service or issue policies.
Not financial, insurance, legal or tax advice
Everything on this site is general information published for a general audience. It does not account for your circumstances, and it is not a recommendation to buy, keep, change or cancel any policy.
Insurance is regulated state by state. Products, pricing, underwriting rules and consumer protections vary by state and change over time. Before acting, consult a licensed professional in your own state, and confirm anything that matters directly with the insurer.
The calculator and quiz are estimates
Our tools apply general methods to the figures you enter. They produce an estimate and a starting point for a conversation — not a quote, an offer, a promise of coverage, or a determination of what you need.
The tools run entirely in your browser. We do not receive, transmit or store the numbers you type into them.
Accuracy, and links to other sites
We try to keep this site accurate and current, and we correct errors when we find them. We do not warrant that everything here is complete, current or error-free. Insurer ratings, product features and prices change without notice.
We link to third-party sites such as rating agencies and regulators for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Advertising and compensation
This site currently carries no advertising. In future we may earn a commission if you follow a link to an insurer or comparison service and take an action there. If and when that happens, it will be disclosed clearly on the pages where it applies.
Compensation does not determine our editorial conclusions. Where we describe how companies were selected or compared, the criteria are published so you can judge them yourself.
Acceptable use
Please do not use this site to break the law, attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, interfere with its operation, scrape it at a volume that degrades service for others, or misrepresent yourself as connected with it.
